Luggage storage at Shinjuku Station
Shinjuku is a maze of JR, subway and private railway stations joined by underground passages. Lockers are spread across many exits, and the one you find first may be full or on the wrong side of the station.
Book a storage spot at a shop near the exit you are heading to.

Pick your exit first
Shinjuku has several major exits (such as East, West and South), and walking between them inside the station can take a long time with a suitcase. Decide where you are going after you drop your bags, and look for storage near that exit.
Coin lockers
Coin lockers are found near most exits. Suitcase-sized lockers fill up quickly on weekends and holidays. Some newer lockers accept IC cards such as Suica; older ones may take coins only, so carry some 100-yen coins.
Staying in Shinjuku?
Many hotels will hold your bags before check-in and after check-out. Ask at the front desk before you look for a locker.
Station facilities can change without notice. Check the signs at the station or the railway operator's official information.
